Advices For Camel Trekking in Morocco

Many travelers have questions about this unique experience and the best way to prepare for a camel trip.

How many hours will I be on the camel?

During your camel ride you will have about 1-1: 30 hours riding on a camel through the sand dunes, while going slow you will have opportunity to stop for photos … with a request to your camel guide.

What do I need to pack?

You will need a flashlight because the camp does not have lights as they use candles to make the experience more authentic and once in a lifetime.

Sleeping bag : Is it necessary?

If you wish you can bring it with you, but in the camp there are beds and blankets to keep you warm while our team will take care of you, providing you with exceptional service.

Shoes and pants?

You should have some shoes that are suitable for a walk in the sand dunes, ideally, they should be closed so you do not need to worry about the sand inside them! Also, jeans are a good option to wear while on your camel so you do not have any painful irritation.

Sun cream and sunglasses?

Very important to have them so much by the sand storms that sometimes happen or even a slight wind makes the sand hurt your eyes. Suncream will protect your skin from sunburn.

Contact lenses?

Advised. Please, if you have to try to eliminate them and put on glasses because the air in the desert can be dusty.

Water bottle?

Please before riding your camel make sure you have enough water with you. One bottle each is fine.

Is the Tent Private or Shared?

Of course, each couple has a private tent to sleep in, if you are a family the children will share one, and the parents will have a private one, or if you wish you can also sleep under the stars.

Where does the Camel Trek starts and ends ?

Our Camel Excursions start from the village of Hassi Labied located 4 km before the center of Merzouga.

Our guests arrive at the village by car, rental car, or bus (we will pick them up at the bus station), and we provide secure parking for vehicles. From here, we prepare for an afternoon outing, so travelers must plan to reach the village at least two hours in advance.
