Tour Itinerary: Morocco 12 day Tour from Casablanca

Day 1: Arrival at Casablanca {50 km}

The driver from your Morocco tour company (Sahara Camel Trips) will meet you at Mohammed V International Airport and drive you to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time your trip can be started by visiting the most interesting attractions of Casablanca including Hassan 2 mosque… Casablanca is the economical capital and the largest city of Morocco. Day 2: Casablanca - Rabat - Chefchaouen {340 km}

After a healthy breakfast at the hotel, your 12 day Morocco tour from Casablanca will continue direction to Rabat the political and administrative capital of Morocco, here we will visit Kasbah des Oudayas, Hassan Tower, Chellah before we drive to blue pearl of Morocco (Chefchaouen) known for its blue and white colors and considered one of the beautiful cities in Northern Morocco. Day 3: Full day to explore Chefchaouen

Today, you have plenty of time to discover this charming blue town of Morocco by walking through its narrow painted alleys and visiting attractions including the old Medina, Ras el Maa, a small waterfall and washing spot, Plaza Uta El Hammam,Spanish Mosque, Kasbah. Chefchaouen is a perfect place to wander and take pictures…Overnight at hotel (B.B).

Day 4: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes {212 km}

We will leave Chefchaouen and drive to Volubilis, the Roman ruins and one of the most wonderful archaeological sites in the history of Morocco. We will drive further to Meknes one of the four Imperial cities of Morocco, here we will visit its huge and oldest gate of Bab Mansour, Place el Hedim, Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and Sahrij Souani before we head to Fes, arrival in the afternoon and overnight at hotel/riad (B.B).
 

Day 5: Fes City tour

After having breakfast at your hotel, your sightseeing city tour will get started with a local official guide to explore Fes and its main attractions including the famous blue gate of Bab boujloud, the Royal palace, Jewish quarter, and its old Medina where we will see the daily life of the local people, and visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, Mosque and University Karaouine, Al attarine Madrasa and we will take the chance also to visit the old Tanneries and a Ceramics factory to learn about the creative handicrafts of Morocco. Then we will enjoy one of the best panoramic views from the top of the entire town of Fes before our city tour ends. Overnight at hotel/riad (B.B).
 

Day 6: Fes - Ifrane - Cedar forest - Middle Atlas - Ziz valley - Erfoud - Merzouga {470 km}

Our amazing 12 days Morocco tour from Casablanca continues down to the southeast of the country through Ifrane nicknamed as the little switzerland of Morocco as the Moroccans loves to call it, we will travel further to Cedar forest in Azrou for a short walk and if we are lucky to see the Barbarian apes to feed and why not takes some pictures with them before we continue our way to Midelt where we will have break for lunch at a restaurant.
 
Afterwards, we will cross the impressive Middle Atlas Mountains while enjoying its unique scenery until we reach the Ziz valley, considered the second longest river in Morocco, here we will stop to admire a beautiful panoramic view with thousands of palm trees…we will pass through Erfoud the last town before the Desert known for its yearly Palm dates and Fossils, and afternoon we will reach our favorite destination “Merzouga Desert”  where we will spend the night at hotel overlooking the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes. Overnight at hotel/riad (B.D).

Day 7: Merzouga 4x4 Tour - Camel trek and Night at Merzouga Desert Camp {50 km}

After breakfast at the hotel, we will start our 4×4 excursion in Merzouga desert to explore all interesting sites around Erg Chebbi dunes including the peaceful Oasis of Hassi labied and its old irrigation canal system, the seasonal lake of Dayt Srij ( If there is water in it). Then we pass through the Berber villages to reach Khamlia where we will have an optional stop at one of the associations in the village where the local people play their Gnawa music that belongs to the dark skin people originally from other African countries.
 
Afterwards, we will continue to Mifis, an abandoned small military village known for its minerals and mines. We will drive further to visit a Berber nomad family who are still living under their tent in the middle of nowhere, here we will have a break for a glass of tea and learn about the nomadic lifestyle… we will also make different stops to enjoy the panoramic views and take photos. We will have lunch at a local restaurant before we head back to the village.
 
After a short break, you will start you Camel ride for an hour to reach the camp with the opportunity to watch the sunset over the sand dunes, take pictures and enjoy the Sahara landscape, after the sun goes down the Camel trek continues to the Berber camp where you will greeted by our staff and have a cup of tea and you will be shown your tent. Free time to relax until dinner, have a delicious meal and listen to some traditional Berber drumming music around the campfire under the starry sky of the Sahara desert. Overnight at Merzouga desert camp (B.D).

Day 8: Merzouga Desert - Rissani - Todra gorge - Dades Valley {250 km}

Today it’s highly recommended to get up early in the morning to watch a beautiful sunrise in the Desert, take pictures, then after these unforgettable moments you will have a delicious breakfast and take shower at the camp. After that you will Camel trek again back to the original starter location or we can also transfer you by 4×4 as an alternative to Camels. After meeting your driver you will drive to Rissani to visit its traditional market if we are lucky to be there on Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday which are the days of the weekly market in Rissani. 
 
We will continue to Todra valley and gorge located in the foot of the High Atlas mountains, considered one of the most beautiful gorges in Morocco with its narrow canyons and it is also a famous place for the rock climbers, here we will have a walk through the gorge to view the scenery and take photos…We will have free time for lunch.
 
After lunch we drive to Boumalne and through Dades Valley with stops to appreciate the landscapes, see the rock formation nicknamed the toes of monkeys before we arrive at our lovely hotel overlooking the valley. Overnight at hotel (B.D)
 

Day 9: Dades Gorge - Rose valley - Skoura - Ouarzazate {123 km}

Our journey continues to Marrakech through Rose valley known for its yearly rose festival and cosmetic products made by Roses. Driving along the valley of a thousand kasbahs and Skoura palm grove and a visit to Kasbah Amridil is a historic fortified residence in the oasis of Skoura. Then to Ouarzazate ( Noiseless in Berber language) recognized as the gate of the Sahara desert, here we will visit Kasbah Taourirt and Oscar film studios, considered the biggest film studio all around Morocco. Overnight at hotel (B.D).
 

Day 10: Ouarzazate - Ait ben Haddou - High Atlas - Marrakech {195 km}

We will drive further to the oldest ksar of Ait ben Haddou ( fortified kasbah), declared a world heritage site by Unesco since 1987. The ksar is a group of earthen buildings surrounded by high walls, and is a traditional pre-Saharan habitat. A number of famous films and TV series were recorded in this spectacular place including; Gladiator, Game of Thrones, Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile…Free time for lunch.
 
In the afternoon we will cross the stunning  High Atlas mountains through Tizi N’tichka 4260 m high above the sea level, making stops to enjoy the splendid panoramic views of these mountains, the authentic Berber villages and take pictures…an optional stop at an Agran cooperative to learn the process of extracting the oil from the Argan fruit, and the benefits of its products. We will continue to Marrakech in the afternoon and drop off at your accommodation. Overnight at hotel/riad (B.B).
 

Day 11: Marrakech City Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, your city tour of Marrakech will get started with a local guide. Marrakech known as the red city, our visit will includes the most interesting attractions including the Koutoubia mosque, Bahia Palace, Saadien’s tombs, Madrasa ben Youssef, Majorelle gardens and then in afternoon/evening you will have free time to explore the famous square of Jemaa el Fna and enjoy your time watching the musicians, performers, snakes charmers, and vibrant souk.
